It is important that people receive information related to health only from official sources. This is especially important when it comes the COVID-19 vaccines, as there is a lot of misleading and incorrect information circulating on the internet and social media.

Here are some tips on how to decide whether information you are seeing is trustworthy.
  • Check the original source of the information. If the article provides links to a credible research paper or health authority to support its message is it more trustworthy than an article with no link or links to unofficial sources.
  • Look at who is giving the information. If the advice or message is being given by a doctor, health authority or expert with relevant qualifications it is more trustworthy than someone who appears to have no expertise on the subject.
  • Check if the information you are seeing is being shared widely on credible sources. If what you are seeing is only being shared on social media and you cannot find it on any official news channels or websites, it is likely to be untrusted information.
